Sentences containing nouns with – -vit’(-ვით’) and msgavsad’(მსგავსად’) postpositions in Georgian (According to newspaper language)

Abstract

The present paper deals with the sentences containing nouns with -vit’(-ვით’) and msgavsad’(მსგავსად’) postpositions, which are used to express the category of a comparison based on similarities in the special literature. (T. Kvachantiradze, Sh. Dzidziguri).


The different approaches to the postposition -ვით’ are presented in the paper as well as it deals with the origin of a lexical unit msgavsad’(მსგავსად’) as an infinitive having the function of a postposition. Semantics of these sentences is analyzed.


The ambiguity that is commonly characteristic for comparisons based on similarities expressed by the nouns with postpositions is focused on.
